Volunteering Opportunity in Spelthorne: Support our Surrey Young People’s Fund

We are looking to appoint a volunteer Assessor to work with disadvantaged young people, assessing applications for grants and providing support for them to access training and employment opportunities in Surrey.

Applicants will ideally be located, or have access to, the Spelthorne borough.

You will need to be mobile, to meet with young people to assess eligibility for a grant and attend a monthly panel to discuss their application. You will need to be able to complete reports and have access to the internet.

You will be able to relate to young people and empathise with their needs and aspirations, especially those who might be marginalized in society.

Strong interpersonal skills are required.

It is anticipated that the role will occupy approximately 1/2 days per month, spread across 2 – 3 days.

Training will be provided.

This role is subject to the provision of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the DBS.
