Sandown Park Racecourse Launches Community Fund for Elmbridge in Partnership with the Community Foundation for Surrey

Community Foundation for Surrey (CFSurrey) is proud to announce the launch of the Community Fund for Elmbridge, a key initiative to celebrate the racecourse’s 150th anniversary in 2025. The fund has been established in partnership with Sandown Park Racecourse, and CFSurrey are delighted to share their 20th anniversary year with this fantastic new fund.

The Community Fund for Elmbridge will serve as the focal point for fundraising at Sandown Park throughout this anniversary year and beyond. It has been created to support charities, groups and community projects local to Elmbridge through the provision of micro-grants. The first round of applications is expected to open later in 2025, with further guidance to be released in due course regarding the specific types of causes and projects the fund will support.

Sarah Drabwell, General Manager at Sandown Park Racecourse, commented: "For 150 years, Sandown Park has been at the heart of our community, and we are delighted to mark this milestone with the launch of the Community Fund for Elmbridge. Partnering with the Community Foundation for Surrey ensures that we can make a real difference where it matters most. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this fund will have for years to come."

Rebecca Bowden, CEO of the Community Foundation for Surrey, added: "I’m really delighted to be working in partnership with Sandown Park to deliver a new Community Fund that will help those most in need in the area. In this year of Sandown’s 150th anniversary and our own 20th Anniversary, the partnership between our two organisations will enable us to provide real meaningful support to local people and celebrate the power of working together."
