Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund

We are proud to manage the Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund, which provides vital support to non-profit organisations across Surrey. With a particular focus on Surrey Heath, Guildford, Waverley, and Elmbridge, the fund helps individuals develop new skills, build confidence, and access life-enhancing opportunities, including mobilising social justice.

Empowering Through Skills and Opportunities

The fund prioritises projects that:

  • Boost Employment and Training – Supporting individuals to gain new skills, build confidence, and enhance their career prospects.

  • Expand Young People's Horizons – Funding initiatives that provide young people with experiences they might not otherwise have, helping to broaden their aspirations and outlook.

Making a Difference in the Community

The Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund has already made a meaningful impact, just two examples of grants made are:

  • Normandy Community Therapy Garden – £500 Grant
A horticulture and education charity offering therapeutic gardening to adults and teenagers with learning, physical, and mental health disabilities. The grant supported the ‘Stroke of Genius’ project, which provided stroke survivors and their carers with gentle exercise, social interaction, and confidence-building activities.

  • Challengers – £500 Grant
An inclusive play and leisure charity for disabled children and young people. The funding supported their ‘Young Ambassadors’ project, which empowered siblings of disabled children to advocate for the charity, raising awareness of disability while developing valuable skills and experience for their futures.

A Hands-On Approach to Giving

Charles Russell Speechlys staff play an active role in the fund’s decision-making, with a dedicated panel of eight employees meeting quarterly to review applications and award grants. This hands-on approach ensures funding is directed where it can make the greatest impact, strengthening the firm's connection to the local community.

Through the Charles Russell Speechlys Community Fund, CFSurrey is proud to support projects that create lasting change—helping people gain new skills, explore new opportunities, and build brighter futures.
